How do you reach brand new clients, people who have never heard of you?
Thanks to the volume of noise around, lead generation is harder than ever. People have a vast choice; they also have a low threshold for attention.
As the person or company communicating, we have an intention; we’re looking for a response of some sort. And, your audience needs to feel special – whether it’s marketing, sales or staff engagement.
There is a relative NLP phrase that always sticks with me in these scenarios:
The meaning of the communication is the response you get.
It makes sense then that the onus falls on us – the communicators – to put in the effort to say the right thing to the right person whenever and wherever we can. Not stuff that is easy for us to do, and not stuff to please everyone; just stuff that hits the button for a select group of people.
The good news is that we have the tools. The rest is up to us.
